Always Starting Over

From the musical, "If/Then," music and and lyrics by Tom Kitt.

Here, I play the role of Liz, who at the beginning of the show is recently divorced and is looking for new experiences.  She meets, starts a relationship with, gets pregnant with, and marries Josh, an army doctor returning from his second tour of duty.  A few years after Liz and Josh are married, he receives another request to return overseas and can't refuse the offer.  Josh is killed in the line of duty, and this is Liz's song of coping with the death and trying to move on with her life.  This was performed on January 27th, 2017 at Frost School of Music.

So Many People

From the musical "Saturday Night," music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

I am playing the role of Helen Forrester, a southern belle who loves the lifestyles that come with the rich and famous.  In this song, however, she realizes that she has fallen in love with a man who is neither rich nor famous.  This was performed on April 8th, 2016 at Frost School of Music.
